In the US, a 60 Mbps internet connection is often considered adequate. Most of us do with far less. South Korea, on the other hand, has committed to providing 1 Gbps service throughout the country. Cost? USD 24.6 billion. Government contribution? USD 938 million. Koreans currently have 100 Mbps internet connections. The project will create 120,000+ jobs.[1]
