If you have been discouraged by the notion that the telecoms engaged in illegal spying on Americans, acts which were retroactively authorized by Congress, there is room for hope. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) has filed suit in federal court challenging the law on Constitutional grounds. "...EFF argues that the flawed FISA Amendments Act (FAA) violates the federal government's separation of powers as established in the Constitution and robs innocent telecom customers of their rights without due process of law."
