The end of a dark chapter in American history. President Obama has: ordered the closure of Gitmo, prohibited the CIA from maintaining secret prisons, returned the right of habeus corpus to Constitutional standards, prohibited torture per the Army Field Manual and the Geneva Convention, and nullified every legal order and opinion on interrogations issued by any lawyer in the executive branch after Sept. 11, 2001. [1] Not bad for the first week.
