Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but they are not entitled to their own facts. --Daniel Patrick Moynihan

I treasure people who would live up to that point of view. There are all to few in today's world, and especially in today's political world. Listening to a couple of opposing politicians argue may leave you feeling hungry for enough useful information to form your own opinion. So cherish a truth seeker when you find one.

Nate Silver is such a fellow. His work on political projections, found on fivethirtyeight.com, for the last election earned high praise from most. Here's an example of what Nate does so well.

Here's another by Paul Krugman who is trying to sort out the implications of a tax cut as compared to public spending by government. His conclusions seem particularly useful, both for forming an opinion on the subject and for identifying politicians who seem to want their own set of facts.
