The HuffPost reports conservation on a grand scale. In what looks like a win-win deal engineered by Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, the state has tentatively agreed to buy 300 square miles near the Everglades for $1.75 billion from U.S. Sugar Corp. The state is attempting to restore the Everglades from encroaching development. Sugar production in Florida is in decline.
