Elsewhere in the nation. Massachusetts voters approved a measure to decriminalize possession of an ounce or less of marijuana. Michigan became the 13th state to allow medical marijuana. Washington became the second state to approve doctor-assisted suicide. Michigan approved an initiative allowing embryonic stem cell research. Missouri approved a requirement that investor-owned utilities buy or produce 15 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
