Evidence related to the brief war between Georgia and Russia over South Ossetia continues to accrue. Independent observers have confirmed military action by Georgia on August 7, but did not observe Russian or other aggression which Georgia asserted was the cause.[1] The Times says that Georgia fired the first shot.[2]
