The great health care debate will start again soon.  In a rational world, we would begin by examining health care systems around the developed world using objective data e.g infant mortality rates, etc, and comparative cost.  Then we would set about shaping a system that would give us - the wealthiest nation in the world - a health care system that was among the best.

That ain't gonna happen.  There are vested interests who already know the answer and they are not about to engage a process that threatens their money making machine.  Better you should die early or your baby never get a shot at life, than change the system.

You will be threatened with loss of choice.  You will be told that 'socialized medicine' is a blight and that will give you substandard care.  All untrue, of course, but that doesn't matter.

Here's a little background reading.  Try it on for size.
