How to shoot yourself in the foot in one easy lesson. Scott Travers, is president and CEO of a Nova Scotia holding company that has invested in a New York paper mill. Closed for seven years, the mill reopened in 2007 and now employs more than 100 people and has created hundreds of spin-off jobs. Mr. Travers travels frequently to the paper mill to oversee the investment.

Despite documentation confirming his role, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection folks have denied entry to Mr. Travers.[1]
