The press continues vetting Sarah Palin in ways that the McCain organization failed to do. It's a worthwhile effort that has surfaced her alleged abuses of power, her support for Alaskan secession, her support for the extreme religious right, and her fitness to be positioned an aging heartbeat away from the Presidency.
It's also a distraction from the serious issues confronting America: Iraq, Afghanistan, the still seriously faltering economy, the large and growing number of Americans losing their homes, the sad state of health care, under-funded education, fixing Social Security, an over-stretched military, the administration's massive invasion of privacy, and fixing Medicare to name a few.
