A Republican is a Republican, is a Republican. Not quite. The sibling rivalry that has existed between the Administration and Congressional Republicans has been a pretty one sided affair, with the Administration getting what it wants and a steady erosion of Congressional power. That coupled with an unpopular President and a electorate that is not happy with the idea of 'bailout' should drive some changes.
Look for a bill that includes daylight on the process, reasonable Congressional oversight, and help for beleaguered homeowners who took mortgages with a 'gotcha'. Taxpayers deserve some reward from the upside potential when they provide bailout money and corporate executives who come to the government for that money should not be compensated more than comparable government employees. The era of capitalism unrestrained by democracy must come to an end. IMHO
