The LAT reports, "The Federal Reserve clamped down hard on mortgage lenders Monday, issuing rules designed to curb the sorts of risky and deceptive lending practices that helped trigger the subprime mortgage crisis." The pendulum swings. The lesson here is that capitalism works only when it is controlled by a democratic government intent on curbing it's excesses. The cynic wants to know how long it will be before the pain goes away and some ninny runs on a platform to get rid of 'big government' again?
