Water boarding, is it torture? Christopher Hitchens, who first argued that it was merely extreme interrogation allowed himself to be subjected to the practice. Even though he knew he could terminate the experience at any time, he was sufficiently traumatized that he changed his mind. Then there's the post traumatic stress. The NYT reports.
